Kia Ora Whanau!
Welcome back to school! We hope our wee people had a wonderful break from school and some much needed rest. We are in for a busy term with 9 weeks of fun. As it stands we are still in level 2 so we have included the information regarding this below as a reminder of how things work.
Welcome Tess
Tess Powell will join us this term. Tess is a student teacher and will be immersed in our awesome room for 4 weeks. We look forward to having her work alongside us.
Sunhats
Your child will need a named wide brimmed hat each day at school. The rule is ‘no hat no sun’ and the Tamariki must play in shaded areas during their break times. Please make sure your child has one with them on day one.
HERO - Reporting
Please keep checking our updates on HERO. This is where you can see your child’s current goals and their progress for the year. We are always happy to meet with you and answer any questions you might have, but we ask that you make a time to do this.
Tangaroa Art Study
Last term we started learning about Tangaroa the ancestor/god of the sea. We were busy creating art portfolios that told stories about Tangaroa and the sea. Due to Lockdown we did not get as far as we would have liked with our study so will be continuing with this into Term 4. When our Portfolios are complete and if we are back in Level 1 we hope to invite you all in for a showcasing of these. Keep your eyes peeled for more details surrounding this.
Cross Country
This term we will be training for our big cross country run. Please make sure your child wears suitable footwear each day for this.
Junior Assembly
While under Level 2 these will not be going ahead. If there is a level change we will let you know when the next one is.
Level 2 Key Messages
Thank you for helping us keep the number of people on site down and manage the Level 2 restrictions that we are having to follow. These are in place for the health and wellbeing of your child(ren) and wider community.

Drop Off and Pick Up
If you need to bring your child(ren) to school please “drop off and pick up” at one of the school entrances or a short walk away from school.
If you need to use the Centennial Ave entrance be ready to drop off your child, before you leave home. This is so when you pull up at the drop off area, parents should please remain in your car.
If you need to pick up your child, please wait at one of the school entrances or on the paved area outside the Hall. Make sure your child knows where you will meet them.
