Notices: Term 2, Week 1

 Kia Ora Whanau

 

We hope you have had a lovely Easter and holiday with your little ones.  We are looking forward to hearing all about their break and reconnecting with them.

 

Term 2 

Term 2 Starts - Monday 2nd May

 

COVID 19 Traffic Light Change

With the the change of the COVID 19 traffic light system colour we can now welcome our Whanau back on site.  Whanau are now welcome on the school grounds and in the classrooms.  If you do choose to come into the classroom you are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask and practice social distancing to keep our Tamariki and Kaioko safe.  There is hand sanitizer available at the classroom doorways for you to use.

 

A reminder…

We are in the Orange zone of the COVID Protection Framework. Stay away from school if you are unwell and especially if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

 

Here at school basic Hygiene Habits are expected, encouraged and modelled: 

  • Physical distancing (not touching and not breathing on each)

  • Clean your hands often - wash and dry

  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow.

  • Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces.  

  • Wear a face mask

 

 

Maternity Leave and a New Kaiako

Sarah’s last day will be on Friday 27th of May.  She will be begin her maternity leave from the following week.  We are finishing the appointment process to fill Sarah’s position and we will let you know the result of that as soon as possible

 

Junior Assemblies

We are excited to get these going again and have our Whanau in to share our learning.  Keep an eye on our notices for more details and dates.

 

Oral Language/News

Week 1: - Holiday News Tell us about your holidays!  Bring movie stubs, photos, drawings or anything else you need to support you when speaking to your class.


 

Te Reo Moari Language - Word/Statement

Each week we will share the statement or word we are learning in the classroom.  If you use it at home as well we can all learn together.

For this term we will be learning how to share our feelings in Maori

Question - Kia ora, Kei te pehea koe? - Hello, how are you?

Answer - Kia ora, Kei te pai ahau - Hello, I am good.


Learner Quality

Each week we will share the learner quality focus from our G.O.L.D characters.  This term we will be focusing on the O (Opportunity) and our learner quality for the second week is…
